    Hello,

We are two families that are enjoying vacations in this great contry. As we love climbing we have our equipmet with us.
A couple of weeks ago, we bought the Greece guidebbok witch is very nice quality (nice photos and great explanations).
Right now we are in Nafplio.
We really enjoy the Karathona area (good for the kids and the parents), we are going to Anatoli this afternoon.
We are not super strong climbers and easy routes up to 6a are fine for us.

Next week we will be on Amorgos Island and after a search I see that there are some crags over there but I do not manage to found precisely where they are.

Is someone have a few explanations to share it would be great !
We enjoy so much climbing in these fantastics places ! I’m sure Amorgos could be a must !!

    Many thanks in advance.
    Marc.

    Hi Marc,
In Amorgos there are about 30 bolted sport routes in the area of Aegiali.

Unfortunately, rocks at most crags are covered with moss, reducing the quality and the aesthetic of routes. But the worst part is that there are NO approach paths. You will have to fight your way through a jungle of thorny bushes to approach the routes; it is quite difficult.

For some good climbing at Aegean Sea I am afraid Kalymnos island is the only solution!

Either way, we will send you by email a short topo of Amorgos Climbing.

    Have fun,
    Aris

    Hi,
I’m in the same situaion of Marc, next week i will be in Amorgos with my family and i would like to climb. Do you know if the situation of the routes near Aegiali is the same of 4 years ago? Do you know if the route is bolted and if the bolts are not too far apart?
Many thanks in advance best regards
    Thomas.

Hello, I am going to be near Aegiali in a few months and would love to get the topo information! I know it’s not the best climbing in Greece, but I’ll take what I can get while I’m in Amorgos. Thank you! ~Rachelle
